About the Author
David Biedrzycki has been creating illustrations for book publishers, advertising agencies, magazines, and design firms since 1980. His art has graced the cover of KidSoft Magazine, New England Aquarium billboards and children's software packaging, such as "The Amazon Trail" and "Odell Down Under." He is the author/illustrator of the ACE LACEWING: BUG DETECTIVE series as well as ME AND MY DRAGON and ME AND MY DRAGON: SCARED OF HALLOWEEN. He also illustrated THE BEETLE ALPHABET BOOK and DORY STORY. David lives in Medfield, Massachusetts.

Great new addition to the Christmas book line-up

Oh, those bad reindeer have put on the pounds and been skipping their workouts! They are way out of shape and can't pull the sleigh. The elves rescue Santa by making him a shiny new jet, so he can make his deliveries in a snazzy, modern fashion. Unfortunately, the jet's noisy and breaks down. Santa's in a bad way until the reindeer come to his rescue. They got the hint; they've been hitting the gym, and they're ready to make their deliveries.
I wouldn't have thought there was a way to put a new twist on this tale, but this author has found it. This is a funny story, not a morality tale, but I was happy to see the plot thread of reindeer obesity being dealt with. It's always good to see problems on the table: here's what happens when you eat too much and are lazy; here are the results; and here's how reindeer handle the problem.
I like this new book very much indeed. I wish I could have given it a better recap, but my library copy hasn't been on the shelf since I got it. Its bright, appealing artwork with its comical renderings of outraged reindeer make it a natural.

This story Santa is getting ready for his Christmas run. His sled is beyond what he feels is repair and his reindeer are all really out of shape. So he asks his head elf to come up with something for him. And he does a high tech jet so Santa takes it out....it's noisey and he can't do the things that he does with his sled and reindeer. So he sends out an SOS they see it up in the North Pole and the reindeer comes to the rescue!

Bought this for my boyfriend's 5-year-old son and he absolutely loves it. He wants it read to him every night.
