About the Author
Paul D. Bawek is an award winning actor, director, playwright, fight choreographer, and acting coach. He’s taught acting for the stage and screen, playwriting, and directing at theatres and educational institutions across the nation and abroad. Published works include "Mithridatism" (Playwrights’ Center Monologues for Women), "Changes," "First Kiss," and "The Director as Storyteller." Produced works include "CrossRoads," "Falsies," "The Cabin," "Changes," "First Kiss," and "No Fault." He also co-authored the scripts for "Jack London Tales," "Gold Country Tales," and "Twain Tales," which played at schools throughout Northern California. As an actor, Paul worked at the B Street Theatre where he co-starred with Timothy Busfield in the world premiere of Aaron Sorkin’s full-length version of "Hidden in This Picture." He also performed at The Studio Theatre, The Fantasy Theatre, Santa Rosa Repertory, and the Bloomsbury Theatre in London, UK. He was the commercial spokesperson for The Bank of Stockton, United Interstate Financial, Port of Subs, and a reporter/interviewer of the Oakland A’s baseball players for KSCH TV in Northern California. Paul’s professional and academic directing credits include the world premiere of the British comedy "Average" at the Bolivar Theatre in London, UK, and "CrossRoads" at the Studio Theatre in Sacramento, CA. Other directing credits include work at The B Street/Fantasy Theatre, The Magic Circle Repertory, American River College, and Southwest Minnesota State University, where two of his productions received the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival Award for best ensemble acting. Mr. Bawek is currently the head of the B.F.A. acting program at Florida Southern College.

It has what the others don't!

LOVE IT!
Not only are the monologues great, but this has something in it that no other monologue book I have seen has. Other books only have the monologues in them and that's it while this book actually helps you select a monologue that you would be good at! It's even right in the preview (check it out) so you can see it's legit.
This book was built for audition monologues. They're short (45-120 sec) as to keep your auditors attention, not bore them with lengthy monologues, and fits right in the time limit of almost all auditions.
Defiantly worth the $16, no questions.

The book has a fantastic collection of monologues for all genders, ages, and races. I have received several parts using these monologues and highly recommend this to anyone searching for great audition monologues.

Awesome stuff here! There is a wide variety within this wonderful book! I have used several of these monologues during my time as a BFA Musical Theatre major. There's a ton to work with here! I have had many callbacks over my college years with some of these monologues, as my audition material.
Just read the book, front to back before you make any strong acting choices. There is a nice beginning of the book that talks about characterization, and figuring out what your character wants. USE THE ADVICE HE GIVES YOU! He knows what he's talking about people!!!!
Also, TAKE RISKS WITH THESE! YES, IT'S ALLOWED! Acting is about taking risks! :)
