Excellent Reading with Good Illustrations of the Theories

Prerequisites: Knowledge in Electricity and magnetism, Quantum Mechanics, optics and semiconductor physics. Math: Pre-calculus or preferably calculus. This book is definitely an upper division engineering reading. The theories of photovoltaics are explained quite well from the semiconductor level to applying it at this system level. The author quantifies the theories such that the designer can optimize and validate his or her work. The only drawback of this book, it did not give examples of calculations of the important equations and it was written mostly for Australia in mind. Although, the book did illustrate many pictures and graphs to help the user to get a relatively good feeling of the theories presented. This book is purely technical and does not discuss some of the other issues pertaining in connecting solar to the grid especially here in the USA. I gave the book 4 stars as it is excellent reading and gave relevant illustrations, however, it lacked sample calculations to better validate its theories.

I was looking for a textbook/reference on solar panels, not semiconductor physics of PN junction. This book was the closest thing.

This book contains a lot of information beyond semiconductor physics. Yes, it has a chapter on PN junctions/photodiodes, it explains just enough to understand how the cells work, and presents the important IV equations.

What I like about the book is that it gives lots of information on array sizing, construction of solar panels, and real issues about solar panels.

I recommend it as an intermediate textbook, or a reference.

A novella you'll want to read if you liked 7 Deadly Sins Rafe and Moira!
By Can't read enough!
I love Allison Brennan's writing! I don't think I have ever read a book of hers I didnt like. I really enjoy reading about Rafe and Moira's escapades into the scary supernatural world...So glad we got more of the 7 Deadly Sin tales and a little extra in the short novellas that continue with Rafe and Moira. I would be happy if these stories just kept coming as these are two very interesting people!
