Who are we? Where do we come from? Where are we going? What are we living for? Why are we living? Unquestionably, the wretched "intellectual animal,” mistakenly called a human being, not only ignores, but furthermore ignores that he ignores. The worst of it is the strange and difficult situation in which we find ourselves; we ignore the secret of all our tragedies, yet we are convinced that we know it all. Just send a "rational mammal” to the middle of the Sahara desert, one of those who claims to be influential in life; leave him there, far away from any oasis, and observe from an airplane what occurs. Facts will speak for themselves: the "intellectual humanoid,” though he boasts that he is powerful and believes he is a real human being, turns out to be frightfully weak. The "rational animal” is one hundred percent stupid; he thinks the best of himself. He thinks he can develop his potential via kindergarten, good manners, elementary and secondary schools, diplomas, universities, the prestige of daddy, etc. Unfortunately, in spite of so much education, good manners, titles, and money, we know very well that any stomachache saddens us, and that deep down we continue being unhappy and miserable. It is enough to read universal history to find out that we are still the same barbarians of the past, and instead of improving, we have become worse. This present century with its magnificence, wars, prostitution, world-wide sodomy, sexual degeneration, drugs, alcohol, exorbitant cruelty, extreme perversion, monstrosity, etc., is the mirror in which we must see ourselves; there is not a good enough reason to boast of having reached a superior stage of development. To think that time means progress is absurd; unfortunately, the "learned ignoramuses” continue to be bottled up in the "dogma of evolution...” In all the somber pages of "dark history” we find the same atrocious cruelties, ambitions, wars, etc. Nevertheless, our "super-civilized” contemporaries are still convinced that what we hear about war is secondary, a fleeting accident that has nothing to do with their so boasted "modern civilization.” Indeed, what is important is the way of being of each person. Some subjects will be drunkards; others will be abstemious, some honest and others shameless; there is everything in life. The populace is the sum of all individuals. The populace is what the individual is; it is the government, etc. ... The populace, then, is the extension of the individual...

The Power to Transfrom our Psychology

Within each one of us is a psychological conditioning. It is this psychological conditioning that determines everything about our life. All of the circumstances in our lives, our job, our friends, our quality of relationships, our successes, our failures, our conflicts etc are a reflection of what is inside of us, psychologically.

If we can change what we are within, if we can change our own psychological conditioning we can change everything.

That transformation comes in stages. The beginning of this transformation is dealt with in "Revolutionary Psychology".

This book deals with a long and arduous but profoundly beautiful psychological revolution within oneself.

This book revolutionary psychology explains our psychological constitution from an esoteric perspective. It deals with why we suffer, the causes of suffering and mechanicity and mostly importantly and most the way to break free out of the bondage of our own conditioning.

True spirituality is about transforming negative egotistical states into states that are cognizant, compassionate and truly happy and content. The important thing to undertsnad that our mind is conditioned but it can be completely and radically transformed into something new, something better, something spiritual.

Fire your therapist!...and be your own.

I was going through a rough time and was seeing a therapist that would charge me $90.00 a visit. After I started reading this book my therapist fired me. It was a good firing, she said I didn't need her anymore and that it was obvious that I had the psychological tools now. I owe it all to this book and I thank Samael, in this book of Revolutionary Psychology! Samael takes a no-hold-barred kind of straightforwardness that is kind of harsh for most. I'm glad he does though, because this straight forward approach is definitely what I needed to make the positive correction in my life. Most books that deal with "self help" tend to pat you on the back and tell you what a swell person you are, I guess I needed something a bit more honest, to tell me how I really was. Samael specifically writes against the intellect of his readers, which means you have to read with your heart. People are used to "modern education" feeding them clear cut outlined and numbered tables to memorize and follow; for them, this book wont be so easy to comprehend. This book changed my life, it helped me to see myself in ways I unfortunately hadn't before. It helped me to see and correct my defects so that I would lessen the harm and suffering caused to myself and others. Right book at the right time. If you want to deepen your understanding on topics like self observation, mindfulness, meditation, and the True Self, then this book should not be skipped.

What a masterful writing, simple and poignant.

I have been blessed enough to stumble upon the teachings of Master Samael Aun Weor. This book provides the basic techniques of confronting one's ego without providing so much in the way of esoteric knowledge that one becomes overwhelmed. I am genuinely more at ease and much better equipped to deal with the multiplicity within myself after reading this book. It is truly inspiring.

About the Author

Darryl Benjamin is a passionate educator and advocate for sustainable food systems. He holds a Leadership for Sustainable Food Systems Professional Certificate from the University of Vermont, an MFA in Writing from Vermont College of Fine Arts, and a BA in English Literature from McGill University. Benjamin is cofounder and president of The GMO Breakthrough Education Project, a 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to transforming global food systems through education. Benjamin has taught at over a dozen universities and colleges in Massachusetts and Vermont, including six years in food sustainability, writing, and marketing at New England Culinary Institute. He currently lectures and conducts seminars on sustainable food systems, GMOs, and farm-to-table principles.

Chef Lyndon Virkler is dean of faculty at New England Culinary Institute. He holds a Master’s Degree in Adult and Higher Education from Vermont College of Union Institute and University, a BA in American Literature from Middlebury College, and an Associates of Occupational Science from The Culinary Institute of America. Since joining New England Culinary Institute in 1988, Chef Virkler has been active in a number of issues related to food and agriculture. He is a founding member of the Vermont Fresh Network and the Vermont chapter of Chefs Collaborative. He currently serves as co-chair of the food education committee of the Central Vermont Food Systems Council, an organization focused on developing a sustainable food system within Washington County. He is an avid skier, home gardener, and composter and has been involved in incorporating the sustainable food systems component into New England Culinary Institute’s curriculum. He has also worked on a number of recipe development projects for food companies including Bruegger’s Bagels, Cabot Cheese, and the Vermont Apple Grower’s Association. Lyndon lives in Waitsfield, Vermont with his wife, Joanne, and has two daughters and two grandchildren.

About the Author
Nick Baker has been involved in the great sport of competitive swimming since 1961. He swam competitively for eleven years, coached club for twenty-one years, and has coached swim camps exclusively for the past eighteen years. He started his coaching career in Canada in 1972, then moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, in 1993 to operate a swim camp there. In 1995 Nick published 101 Winning Ways, a motivational book for competitive swimmers. The material for the book came from observing the winning ways of successful swimmers he coached. Nick cofounded the original Peak Performance Swim Camp in 1996. In 2005 he branched out on his own and founded the present-day version. Since then Nick has traveled throughout the United States and abroad, conducting his holistic camps and clinics. Past international locations include: Antigua, Aruba, Bermuda, Brazil, Canada, China, Curacao, England, Hong Kong, Jamaica, Singapore, Spain, Turkey, and Venezuela. Past US locations include: Alabama, Alaska, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. Peak Performance Swim Camp currently offers more than two dozen swim camps and clinics annually including clinics for triathletes and master swimmers. More than 800 swimmers from over 30 countries participated in 2011. Private coaching as well as start, stroke, and turn video analysis are also available throughout the year. In 2007 Nick formed a dynamic partnership with US Sports/ Nike Camps, America’s largest sports camp network and official operator of Nike Sports Camps worldwide. Over the past thirty-nine years Nick has coached swimmers of all ages and abilities, including Olympic finalists, Olympic trial qualifiers, NCAA champions, senior national champions, junior national champions, state champions, national qualifiers, junior national qualifiers, zone champions, and junior Olympic champions. In 1992 one of Nick’s former swimmers, Lisa Flood, qualified for the 1992 Canadian Olympic team in the 100 BR, placing fourteenth overall. Nick attended the Olympics with Lisa as her personal coach. Nick has been a featured writer in Swimming World magazine and presented at numerous coaching clinics throughout the world. He also acts as a consultant to various swim teams including the Greenwich YMCA in Greenwich, Connecticut.

This is definitely one of the best books I have ever seen for the swimming and life.I enjoyed reading the book and it helped me swimming. It's an easy book to read and lots of tips.Highly recommend for all my friends.

Same old argument

Herbert Cole was convinced they needed a gun in the house for protection, but his wife, Alice, disagreed. It was the same old argument, and Herbert's position was, "Guns don’t kill people; people kill people.”

Refusing to discuss the subject, Herbert went to bed saying, "Tomorrow," as if indicating the conversation would happen the next day. The problem was that he NEVER wanted to discuss this so Alice wondered what the "conversation" would be like.

Unfortunately, someone broke into the house that night - before they ever got a chance to have that conversation the following day. Who would prove correct? Was it a good idea to have a gun in the house?

Do guns kill people or do people (with guns) kill people? Or are both Herbert and Alice completely off the mark with this argument?

Good story about an all too common disagreement these days. Are you safer WITH a gun in the house or without one? Read this story in the hope it will help you settle the argument BEFORE you have to know for certain which is the safer choice for you.

Angela E. Stent is professor of government and foreign service and director of the Center for Eurasian, Russian, and East European Studies at Georgetown University. Partnership Ends Where Conflicts of Interest Arise

The Limits of Partnership by Angela Stent describes the history of US-Russian relations from the demise of the USSR in 1991 to the present. It provides a useful sequel, with a bit of overlap, to Jack Matlock’s Autopsy on an Empire which covers US-Soviet relations from 1985 to 1992.

I was fortunate to have read The Limits of Partnership just before the Ukrainian situation heated up in late February 2014. Dr Stent describes US-Russian relations as having undergone four "resets", none of which worked for very long:

1. 1992: GHW Bush attempts to adjust to the demise of the USSR and to Boris Yeltsin’s leadership of Russia but is voted out of office before making much progress.

2. 1993: Clinton tries to team up with Yeltsin. Yeltsin's erratic policy changes and declining health doom this effort.

3. 2001: Putin calls GW Bush immediately after 9/11 and offers his support. Putin seeks to make Russia an equal partner with the US, but ends up feeling that his offer was not taken seriously.

4. 2009: Obama seeks another reset in the aftermath of Russia's war with Georgia.

From a Russian perspective, the most significant aspect of US-Russian relations has been the expansion of NATO. Since the demise of the Soviet Union, NATO's eastern border has moved ever closer to Moscow. Following the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989, the Soviet Union and Russia had the strong impression (promise may be too strong a word) that NATO would not expand eastward.

1. Having just escaped from Soviet control, the Poles, Czechs, and other former members of the Warsaw Pact desperately wanted US assurance that they would not be re-occupied by Russia. NATO membership was really the only tangible way of providing that assurance.

2. Next came NATO membership for the three Baltic states, all former Soviet Republics. Here again, membership could be justified since the US had always refused to recognize the Soviet occupation of these countries in 1939 under the Ribbentrop-Molotov Non-Aggression Treaty.

3. Finally, the US supported the color revolutions in Georgia and Ukraine, and spoke encouragingly of NATO membership for these historically Russian-controlled areas. Russia has pushed back with its war with Georgia and occupation of Crimea.

My point in describing NATO’s progressive expansion is to demonstrate that there are profound geopolitical conflicts between the national interests of Russia and the US. Partnership can go only as far as a congruence of national interests allows. Beyond that point, diplomacy, conflict management, and compromise must come into play.

Since the Olympics I have read two books on Vladimir Putin."The Man Without a Face" I suspect was biased but it might be accurate. . "Vladimir Putin and Russian Statecraft" seemed to me to provide a more balanced approach. "The Limits of Partnership: US-Russia Relations in the Twenty-First Century". I found the book to present a detailed explanation of the US-Russia relations from the fall of the Soviet Union through the two Bush administrations, the Clinton administration, and the Obama administration. The book is fairly current, I believe released in 2013. This is an excellent book on the subject.

Concise and enlightening history gives current perspective.

This Book was selected for a current perspective of factors influencing US - Russian relations. There are good summaries of discussions, disagreements and a few areas of common concerns. This is good for anyone who seeks a more complete understanding of Putan and some ideas how to approach him. Teachers would appreciate the background for themselves and their students for greater depth than they usually have in
World Studies courses.

Correction Re History and Credentials of Grabovoi

As far as reviewer "Kelli"suggesting research is warranted, she may wish to follow her own advice.

I was told by a student of Grabovoi's work that the event in question was a terrorist attack on a school. When Grabovoi went to console the mothers of the departed children, a stranger tried to take payment from the mothers, telling them that Grabovoi would resurrect their children. Authorities mistakenly arrested Grabovoi but he was later released, with the judge reportedly having said that she could not send an honest man to jail. Interestingly, this came on the heels of a movement to have Grabovoi run for President of the Soviet Union, and some suspect that the above incident was a calculated move to limit his influence. I disagree that Grabovoi's writings are "ramblings" or "a narcissitic [stet], convoluted, context of imagination." I am not a scientist, but believe his work holds information of tremendous value. I would particularly recommend the eighth chapter of Arcady Petrov's book, Creation of the Universe, which has a fair amount of detail regarding Grabovoi's background.

Grabovoi is a graduate of Tashkent State University; patent-holder of inventions related to the forecast-oriented control of micro-processes; a Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences; Active member of the MAI (International Informatization Academy); advisor to the Federal Aviation Authority of Russia; and consultant to the Security Council of the Russian Federation and Ministry of Civil Defense, Emergencies, and Disaster Relief of the Russian Federation. According to Petrov, a student of Grabovoi and Director of "KhudLit," one of the largest and oldest publishing houses in the Soviet Union, Grabovoi is a doctor of physics, mathematics, and biological science and has received "multiple awards from governments and NGOs."
